Markets in May began like April, with global markets experiencing volatility. U.S. markets faced challenges due to President Trump’s trade policies, including the imposition of tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China. By mid-May, the market showed signs of recovery, accelerated by eased trade tensions and investor optimism. Canadian stocks have remained stable, as have global markets, notably European and Chinese markets outperforming, driven by strong economic data and investor confidence.
